United KingdomMottainai Mini is an original and creative game with mechanics I’ve never experienced in a game before. Having only played a couple of games, I can see this becoming a fairly fast-paced and competitive game which works well with 2 players or 3. Though a totally different game, it reminds me a little of Scythe. Scythe is not a particularly complex game once you’ve thrown yourself into it, but has a lot of elements that can take a long time to get a handle on or explain. Mottainai is similar and took me several reads of the instructions and a couple of YouTube videos to understand what was actually meant to happen in the game, which seems unnecessary given that it is made up of a single deck of cards. Once you’ve got your head around the game and got playing it’s a great addition to your collection.
